An IHI® turbocharger is mounted on each bank of the engine. Exhaust manifolds, inspired by racing technology, have optimized turbo flange attachment points, allowing for easier servicing and potential tuning without touching the exhaust manifold. To ensure there is no turbo lag as torque rises, GT-R employs high-precision electronic controls.
A titanium exhaust helps ensure proper cooling from the engine’s massive output. Notoriously difficult to work with, each exhaust is hand-built by a master craftsman and is specifically designed for an individual vehicle. A “burnished” finish to the exhaust tip gives the perfect look of a high-performance vehicle that’s been enjoyed to the fullest.
To ensure stable lubrication for the transmission, even when cornering at high Gs, a dry sump lubrication system is employed. The system sprays transmission oil directly onto the gears, reducing friction and increasing reliability.
The Nissan GT-R’s 6-speed dual-clutch transmission employs separate clutches for the odd-numbered gears (1st, 3rd, 5th) and the even-numbered gears (2nd, 4th, 6th). When the car is in an odd-numbered gear, the adjacent even-numbered gear is “preselected” and ready to make the shift immediately.
In another break with convention, Nissan GT-R’s Premium Midship platform places the engine farther back in the chassis for enhanced handling. This unique layout also mounts the transmission with the transfer case in the rear of the GT-R, creating an independent rear transaxle in an All-Wheel Drive vehicle.
Relentless tuning of the GT-R’s aerodynamics creates an incredibly clean drag coefficient of just 0.26 Cd. While you see a substantial, powerful supercar, it punches through the air like a low-slung, mid-engine supercar. It’s pure aerodynamic alchemy.
2023 Nissan GT-R Premium. RAYS® Forged-aluminum 20" wheels feature a machined finish, which provides a high-quality, high-performance look.
Consider the richness of semi-aniline leather appointments, a single hand-picked Nappa leather hide, and an air vent designed by a master in their craft. It’s possible the GT-R can leave you breathless before you even drive away.
Nothing escapes study. The aluminum bezels surrounding the ventilation controls feature subtle etching on the outside to enhance their feel, while the carbon-fiber trim is pure high-performance eye candy.
People to see? Places to be? Just ask Siri®. Equipped with Siri® voice control, Apple CarPlay® brings on board your contacts, favorite messaging apps, Apple Music® playlists, Apple Maps, and more. Simply plug in your compatible iPhone® and go.
Designed exclusively for the GT-R, the 11-speaker Bose Premium Audio System features dual woofers between the rear seats, employing the trunk as a giant bass enclosure. To keep the sound powerful and clean, two separate amplifiers are used — one for the dual subwoofers and the other for the 9 speakers throughout the cabin. The rear-center woofers and door speakers are mounted in rigid aluminum die-cast panels, which improve sound quality, especially tight bass sounds.
The RearView Monitor helps you see what’s directly behind you. Sonar sensors on all four corners look out for static objects. When you’re getting close to a detected object, it will let you know with an audible warning.
Hill start assist helps stop you from rolling backward by holding brake pressure for a few seconds, giving you time to switch from the brakes to the accelerator.
In the event of a collision, advanced air bags and a variety of sensors work together to help protect you.
The advanced VDC system does more than just help you maintain your steering path. While in R-Mode, VDC actually sends more power to the appropriate wheels when it senses oversteer or understeer, helping you drive with superior power and control.
