An IHI® turbocharger is mounted on each bank of the engine. The Nissan GT-R’s 6-speed dual-clutch transmission employs separate clutches for the odd-numbered gears (1st, 3rd, 5th) and the even-numbered gears (2nd, 4th, 6th). When the car is in an odd-numbered gear, the adjacent even-numbered gear is “preselected” and ready to make the shift immediately.
